300 year old romanticism meets the modern age
When Yves and Elie De Malle walked the two kilometres through the castle grounds to the Château de Lasne for the first time and saw the 17th century vision before their very eyes it was love at first sight. Without further ado they took on the building and lovingly renovated it in the years that followed with their own fair hands and with dedication and patience.
To complete the renovation, the 120-square-metre terrace was decked with a wood-plastic composite (WPC). After just one winter here, near the Belgian Ardennes, dark grey stains had formed on the edges of the art nouveau porch due to the absorption of water by the wood fibres.
“After fruitless attempts to claim on the warranty with the manufacturer of the product and extensive research by the patio builder, we promptly opted for NOMAWOOD AMBIENTE PROVENCE and replaced everything”, said Elie de Malle. “Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined such perfect harmony of art(ifice) and tradition as we sought to keep the romantic dream of the castle alive - right down to the LED spotlights”.
