When I first came across NMC, I wasn’t short of options. I had just moved from the east of Finland to the south and was looking for the right place to continue my journey. What made NMC stand out wasn’t just the job itself – it was the way people were treated. There was a genuine, human approach from the start. Combined with the strong family values and the story of a company with over 75 years of history, it immediately felt like a place where I could belong and grow. As I discovered more, I realized how unique NMC really is. The numerous possibilities and capabilities of different production facilities under NMC as well as our three segments (Technical Foams, Technical Insulation and Design Elements), they all together make strong fundaments for our business model. To me, NMC is much more than a Group of companies. It’s a connected network of skills, experience, and people, all working towards the same goal. It’s what we call “One NMC” – and you can truly feel it in everyday collaboration.
What I enjoy most about my job comes down to one simple thing: people. I’ve always been a team player – from my time as a football coach to today. I like listening, learning from experienced colleagues, and understanding how our customers use our materials in real life. When a team wins, it’s double joy! Nowadays, you can combine the business, production, R&D and your personal interests in so many ways at NMC and open up so many possibilities.
Over the past three years, I’ve learned a lot – especially when it comes to materials, chemicals, and production processes at NMC Termonova. The depth of knowledge within NMC is truly impressive. In NMC Termonova, for many people 10 years in not a long career. Many of my employees have been here for 20 or 30 years, and their expertise in XLPa foam and chemical processes is something to be proud of. It’s an environment of continuous learning, where we grow together as a team, adapting to new requirements, regulations, and challenges.
The magical thing about our foams:
For me, the magic of our foams really comes to life in the production process. It happens right there in the oven at our Inkoo site, where the material transforms under high temperatures into something entirely new. Have you ever seen how chemically cross-linked polyethylene foam is manufactured? Still, after two years, it is a magical thing and enjoyable to watch. So, the magic is a unique mix of science, precision and craftmanship.

My magical foam moment at NMC:
One of my most memorable “magical foam moments” happened on my very first day. After returning home from the factory, I was greeted by my neighbour’s dog running toward me with a swimming noodle in his mouth. It felt like a magical gift to start my career in the foaming world! Maybe it was just a coincidence, but for me a moment I will always remember.
